Improvement of Multiplication Ability in The Concept of Time Units Through The CTL Approach in Grade III Students on SDN 23 Tanjung Lago

Mathematics subjects are often seen as scary subjects, so it is not uncommon for students in schools to get low scores in mathematics subjects. This type of research is PTK (classroom action research consisting of 2 cycles. By applying the CTL (Contextual Teaching and Learning) approach to this study, it is intended to improve the ability of 3rd grade students of SDN 23 Tanjung Lago in calculating multiplication with time unit material. Data collection techniques through observation, tests and documentation. In cycle 1, only 6 students or 60% of students completed and 4 students or 40% did not complete. In cycle 2, it became 9 students or 90% of students who completed and 1 student or 10% of students who did not complete. So the increase from cycle 1 to cycle 2 is 30% which achieves learning completeness. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the mathematical ability of multiplication calculation in the unit time material of elementary school students in grade 3 SDN 23 Tanjung Lago through the application of the contextual teaching and learning (CTL) learning approach has increased.
